Members are welcome to visit the Family History Centre at 15 Victoria Terrace, where a dedicated team of volunteers are available to assist with research. Our volunteers possess a wealth of specialist knowledge.

Visitors and members have access to subscription sites like Ancestry, Findmypast, and The British Newspaper Archive when visiting the library. Moreover, we are now an Affiliate Library for Family Search, which members can also access on-site.

Members receive a login for our online members area, which provides access to all issues of the Scottish Genealogist, various useful downloads, and a searchable surname Cemetery Index.

Members also receive a Journal "The Scottish Genealogist" four times a year and can opt to receive a monthly newsletter.

Our classes are offered to members at a discounted rate, and throughout the year, we host a series of talks. Additionally, in May, we organize an excursion to a site of genealogical significance. The talks are accessible both in person and via Zoom.

Most Societies who are members of the Scottish Association of Family History Societies (SAFHS) allow their members to do research in their libraries. As such we welcome members from other Societies to visit to do research. Please remember to bring your relevant membership card when you visit.

UK Membership	£20 individual membership (with pdf Journal £25 individual membership (with paper Journal) £30 family membership (with paper or pdf Journal)
Overseas Membership	£25 with the Journal by pdf. (As at 5th June 2025 we no longer offer an overseas membership with a paper Journal)
Affiliate Membership	£30 for Societies and other Organisations
