We hope you will enjoy it - but not all at once! The Society is a charity which exists to serve everyone who has an interest in Scottish genealogy and we hope you will find our website useful. We would encourage you to look at our Family History Index (which can also be accessed via the 'Library' link) and visit our On-Line Shop, which has nearly 2000 publications relating to Scottish genealogy, including our unique and extensive collection of monumental inscriptions and census publications. Do return to this site regularly to see the progress we are making. If you are of Scottish descent and are interested in your family history then we very much hope that you will consider joining the Society. There are no formal requirements for membership, no joining fee and the annual subscription is very reasonable. As a member you will not only be giving active support to the important work of the Society but you will be able to enjoy the many benefits of membership. These include our quarterly magazine, The Scottish Genealogist, where you can publish details of your interests and queries or contribute articles, substantial discounts on many of the Society's publications, free access to the Library and Family History Centre and participation in events organised by the Society.
