The Society's on-line forum is open both to members of the Society and non-members. You can read all messages in all areas of the forum but you will need to register if you want to post a message, except to the Guestbook. This is to encourage you to say nice things about us! The registration process is simple and automated so you don't have to wait for a forum moderator to approve your registration.

If you want to find out whether any messages concerning a particular name have been posted then please use the forum's search facility.

Posting a message in the forum is a good way to publicize the names you are researching because:

• each message will normally be read by hundreds (sometimes over 1000) of other people researching their Scottish family history;
• messages will be indexed by search engines such as Google.
